Technologically simple. very simple app easy to update and fix the bugs.
Agreements with device manufacturers like Nokia and Sony. preinstalled on the phones, user have to only put their data service-On and ready for WhatsApp.
Free on Android, the fastest growing smartphone platform. Their user license say that you have to pay after one year but has not been implemented yet. I've been using it for more than 2 years. On Android WhatsApp is being mostly used.
No pesky in-app advertisements. Without having to view irritating ads, you just chat here.
