Bangalore based engineering students Yashas C Shekar, Vijaykumar Umaluti and Sandesh E, launched a free calling service named freeKall for those peoples who doesn't have internet access.
Freekall makes the money by listening the advertisement to the caller for 10 seconds within every two minutes. It is tied up with a media partner Streetsmart Media Solutions for advertisement. To make a call user have to dial a number 080-67683693 and then the call is disconnected after a ring. After this the automated system calls the user back and for the number you want to dial. The system of freekall is currently supporting the 20,000 calls/sec and 4 lakh (400,000) calls have been made with Freekall service.
All the registered users can make 12 min of call and the unregistered users can make 3 min of call. Once the service go live all the registered users can make unlimited calls.
The company is planning to have 10 million call after getting the legal clearances and expected to make $30 million at the end of the next fiscal year.
