When comparing SoC processors, it’s important to also note not only the clock speed and core capabilities, but also how they handle through various other tests or benchmarks.
In the case of the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro and the MediaTek MT6589, the Snapdragon pretty much beats the MediaTek in every aspect.
Firstly the Snapdragon has a much better clock speed per core: its four cores outdo the four cores of the MediaTek by clocking at 1.7GHz to the 1.2GHz of the latter. Not only that, but it also has more L2 cache- 2MB to the 1MB of the MediaTek- and it outperforms the MediaTek in the GLBenchmark 2.1 Egypt Offscreen and the BrowserMark 2.0 tests.
